【簡介】
1963年的燦爛夏日，懷俄明西部，年輕的牛仔傑克·特維斯特(傑克·吉倫希爾飾)與恩尼斯·德爾瑪(希斯·萊吉飾)因同為牧場主喬·阿桂爾(蘭迪·奎德飾)打工而相識，傑克比較健談，且騎術高超，恩尼斯自幼父母雙亡，性格內向寡語。人跡罕至的斷背山深處，高山牧場的放羊工作單調而艱苦，隨時有遭遇野獸襲擊的可能，一人不得不看守羊群，和羊群睡在一起。起初二人一個放羊，一個看營地，少有交流。直到有一天，二人晚飯時喝多了酒，是夜又分外寒冷，於是傑克與恩尼斯同帳共裘而眠，在酒精與荷爾蒙的作用下，他們之間發生了“不該發生的事”。
空虛寂寥讓兩個19歲的青年彼此相愛了，一個人做飯，另一個放羊，篝火邊長談，帳篷內歡愛，同性間的純美真愛伴隨二人度過了人生中最美好的一段夏日時光。
